The Gewurztraminer grapes are one of the biggest symbol of wines from Alsace, unique and certainly not to be confused with another, its small pink berries form small, tight bunches. The meaning of the name comes from Gewurz which means “spice“ in German. A grape of the very aromatic white Savagnin family from Tyrol, Switzerland. This grapes are robust during the winter, but it must still be protected from spring frosts because it buds very early in the season. The Gewurztraminer enters the grape variety of Alsace, it is very good for late harvest and selection of noble grains, it gives well balanced wines between sugar and acidity. It gives a dry or mellow white wine depending on its sugar level. Very aromatic, yellow fruits, exotic fruits, fine spices and fresh flowers give it a unique mouth and its nose of lychee and rose is remarkable among all others.
