Marsanne is a white grape variety from the South of France, present in Ardèche, Languedoc-Roussillon, Provence and the Rhone Valley, it produces dazzling wines. Also called gros roussette or abondance depending on the region, it is very productive. It benefits from the warm, sunny climate and the stony soil which is conducive to its good development. Often blended with Roussanne, which is its perfect complement, these two varieties together offer us light wines with very little acidity, with fruity notes and aromas of honey and licorice. They are mainly found in the Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, Saint-Joseph and Côtes-du-Rhône appellations and represent 700 hectares of vines.
