Roussanne
Roussanne is a white grape variety from the South of France, it is distributed around its original base. Towards the southern Côtes-du-Rhône and in particular Châteauneuf-du-Pape, where it is one of the 5 white grape varieties authorised by the AOC for blending. It is also grown in the soils of Languedoc-Roussillon, Provence and northern Côtes-du-Rhône, particularly in the Saint-Joseph appellation. A counterpart of Marsanne with complementary attributes. The grape variety is less powerful, it is delicate and offers elegant, refined and structured wines with aromas of white flowers. Roussanne can be found in the composition of Crozes-Hermitage, Hermitage, Saint-Joseph. And it can also be used in the blending of red wines from Crozes-Hermitage, Hermitage and Saint-Joseph. Further south, Roussanne brings a certain delicacy to the blends of Côtes du Rhône Villages white and Côtes du Rhône white wines.
