Seleccion Especial is the estate's flagship cuvée.
Voted best red wine in the World in 2005, the 2012 vintage was ranked 12th in Wine Spectator's top 100.
The 2017 vintage continues in the same vein, and is undoubtedly a great vintage for the Abadia Retuerta estate.
The nose reveals ripe fruit (ripe cherries, plums), with hints of spice and roasting.
The palate is elegant, with round, silky tannins and a full, persistent finish. Nice freshness and acidity 

Aging: 13 months in French and American oak barrels
Appellation: Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y León - Sardón de Duero Blend: Tempranillo (75%), Cabernet Sauvignon (11%) and Syrah (11%), Merlot (3%) 

The advice from 12bouteilles: Let the wine open, decant it before serving. Serve around 16 ° C. It will go wonderfully well with Iberian ham, game or even roasted red meat with roasted red meat.
