Viña Almaviva : Epu 2019
Central Valley - Puente Alto - Red Wine -Epu 2019 is the second wine of Almaviva, an emblematic estate of Chile, born in 1997 from the collaboration between Philippine de Rothschild (owner of Grands Crus Bordelais, Château Mouton Rothschild, Clerc Million, etc.) and Concha y Toro, Chile's wine emblem.
EPU 2019 is a sublime accessible cru that allows you to discover the perfection of the wines of the star estate of Puente Alto.
Blending and aging:
Epu 2019 is made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon: 84% Carmenere: 13% Merlot 2% Cabernet Franc: 1%. Aging is carried out in one-year-old French oak barrels which have been used for the aging of the estate's first wine.
Tasting note:
Robe : Deep garnet, dark red.
The nose: Racy, expressive, it reveals beautiful notes of forest fruits (blackcurrant, blueberry, raspberry), white flowers and vanilla.
Palate: Pure, fruity, harmonious, silky and with already perfectly integrated tannins. The finish is long, deep, perfectly balanced.
This second wine is hailed by all critics, James suckling gave it a score of 94/100 and Robert Parker Wine Advocate 93 + / 100.
The advice of 12bouteilles: A great wine, an essential and accessible chili cru that we love. Our tasting committee awarded it a score of 18/20. A superb accessible wine for this star winery in Chile.
