Italie, Marchese Antinori Riserva 2011, Chianti Classico
Toscana - Red Wine -The Tignanello estate is located in the heart of Chianti Classico, on the gentle hills between the valleys of Greve and Pesa. It covers 319 hectares of land, including 127 hectares of vineyards.
Among its vineyards, two treasures: the vineyard Tignanello, 57 hectares, and the vineyard Solaia, 20 hectares, which extend on the same hill, on grounds deriving marl marines dating from the time of Pliocene with limestone and shale, enjoying hot days and cool nights during their growing season. The production of Tignanello and Solaia comes from their respective vineyards, and these wines are defined by the international press as one of the most influential wines in the Italian wine-growing history. For the Antinori Marquis, these wines are a passion and a permanent challenge.
The grape varieties planted in the Tignanello estate are Sangiovese (and not the traditional Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc), as well as small quantities of other grape varieties.
This corpulent and round wine is the result of a careful selection of the best Sangiovese and Cabernet grapes grown in the Chianti Classico. The wine is placed in new barrels where it will finish, before the end of the year, the malolactic fermentation. Aging in barrels continues for about 14 months and then 12 months in bottles.
