Mendoza - Red Wine -Caro 2021 is a great wine, showing great finesse and aromatic length.
The colour is a deep red with garnet highlights.
The nose is complex with notes of red fruit, fig and blueberry, with hints of finely roasted coffee. On the palate, the wine is dense and complex, with fine tannins and refreshing acidity, showing good balance. The persistent finesse of the tannins gives it good length and a pleasant, unctuous finish.
Caro 2021 is a blend of 79% Malbec (the emblematic grape variety of Argentina) and 21% Cabernet Sauvignon (the emblematic grape variety of the Médoc).
The wines were aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, 80% of which were new barrels made by the Rothschild cooperage in Pauillac.
James Suckling gave 95/100 to the 2021 vintage.
Caro is the Grand vin of Bodegas Caro, located in Mendoza. The vineyard is planted on high plateaus situated between 800 and 1400 m above sea level, the vineyards of Mendoza are known to be the highest in the world. Sheltered from rain by the mountains to the west and the Pampas to the east, the region is very arid. The wines of Mendoza derive their character from exceptional exposure to the sun and wide variations in temperature between night and day.

12bouteilles advice : Decant the bottle at least 2 hours before serving to allow the aromas to develop to their full potential. Serve chilled at around 18°C. This bottle is the perfect accompaniment to red meats, especially lamb and mutton.
