Bret Brothers: Beaujolais-Lantignié Glou des Brets cuvée zen 2020
Beaujolais - Beaujolais-Lantignié - Red Wine -The Glou des Bret 2020 is a real "friend's wine" produced by the Bret Brothers of the BRET BROTHERS & La Soufrandière domains. This wine is produced in very limited quantities (3344 bottles in 2020). A wine that is both singular and easy to drink, in the image of its creators who, on the 9ha they own in Beaujolais, produce 'Happy Wines'. This cuvée is made from 0.7 hectares of vines, whose average age of the Gamay vines is 30 years.
In 2006, the domain decided to vinify the Gamay planted on magnificent granitic terroirs of the Beaujolais to elaborate today this magnificent Beaujolais-Lantignié "Glou des Bret". This 2020 vintage is entirely vinified in whole bunches, organically grown and follows the "Zen" method of the domain which is based on a sulfite-free vinification with only an addition of less than 20mg before bottling to stabilize the wine (well below the Demeter standards).
Tasting comments:
The robe: very light red with purple highlights
The nose: aromas of fresh red berries (cherry), crunchy, spicy and animal notes
The palate: a slight pearlescent side, very pleasant, ample, greedy, easy to drink, balanced with round and silky tannins.
The Domaines BRET BROTHERS & La Soufrandière are great Burgundy wines qualified as "Bourgogne Haut Couture" by amateurs and professionals.
The advice of 12Bouteilles: To be served a little chilled (around 13-14°C), an atypical wine, almost pearly, which will be without any doubt the best accompaniment of your aperitifs between friends. Superb on a board of cooked pork meats or cheeses.
