Leclerc Briant Reserve Extra Brut is a champagne produced by Leclerc Briant in Epernay. Produced from the 2020 harvest, this champagne is a blend of Pinot Noir 42%, Chardonnay 33% and Pinot Meunier 25%. Reserve Extra Brut Extra Brut has an assertive, high-quality style with a dosage of 4.5 grams per litre.
Tasting notes:
Colour: a golden, pale yellow colour with deep reflections in the glass.
Nose: The first nose is reminiscent of pastries, with notes of marzipan and praline, as well as spices.
On the palate: Supple and fresh, this champagne reveals a fruity, luscious body, underlined by a taut, lemony acidity.
12bouteilles advice: Served chilled at around 10°C-12°C, this is a perfect aperitif champagne for 2, with friends, and is truly a rare value for money in Champagne. Its lovely lemony notes make it the ideal companion for fish, but also for lamb or pork.
Founded in Cumières in 1872 by Lucien Leclerc, the estate moved to Epernay in 1955. At the same time, Bertrand Leclerc married Jacqueline Briant, and the estate became a trading house under the name Leclerc Briant. In 2012, the purchase of Leclerc Briant by Mark Nunnelly and Denise Dupré saved the company from oblivion. The low cellars, 35 metres below ground, house the entire production. The conditions are ideal for prolonged ageing of the cuvées.
