Carillon d'Angelus 2017
Bordeaux - Saint-Émilion - 2nd Wine - Red Wine -Promoted 1st Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Emilion alongside the great Ausone and Cheval Blanc wines, Carillon de l'Angélus is the second wine of Château Angélus. This wine is assembled with the same rigor and attention as the great wine.
This 2017 of Carillon de L'Angélus is a second class wine, a powerful and structured wine. This aging wine is well-balanced between merlots (50%) and cabernet, cabernet sauvignon (3%) and cabernet franc (47%).
Wine Advocate (Robert Parker) Tasting Notes: 90/100
Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Le Carillon d'Angélus delivers notes of warm black plums, wild blueberries and black cherries plus wafts of fallen leaves and cinnamon stick. Medium-bodied, the palate has impressive freshness and energy with rounded tannins and a wonderfully pure finish.
The advice of 12bouteilles: It is a powerful wine that deserves to be decanted at least 2 hours before tasting it, serve it fresh to sublimate the red fruit at 16 ° C.
