The colour has a beautiful dark robe with purple highlights,
The nose opens with notes of red fruit then liquorice and floral and finally woody notes
On the palate the wine is smooth, velvety with silky tannins. The wine is elegant with a long finish. A bottle that will have to wait in your cellar.
The blend for the 2019 vintage is 55% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 15% of Cabernet Sauvignon.
The wine, which is certified organic, was matured for 16 months in oak barrels, 50% of which were new.
Château Canon La Gaffelière is a Premier Grand Cru Classé de Saint-Émilion and certified organic in 2014. , it has been owned by Count von Neipperg since 1971 and since 1984 managed Stephan Von Neipperg who own 2 other Crus Classés de Saint Emilion, la Mondotte (1er Grand Cru Classé) and Clos de l'Oratoire (Grand Cru Classé).
The Canon-la-Gaffelière vineyard, located on the south coast of Saint-Emilion, planted mainly with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and to a lesser extent Cabernet Sauvignon.
