In this 2021 vintage, Château Canon la Gaffelière impressed us with its quality and finesse.
The colour is a beautiful dark colour with violet tints,
The nose opens with notes of red fruit, then liquorice and floral notes, and finally woody notes
On the palate, the wine is smooth and velvety with silky tannins. The wine is elegant with a long finish. A bottle that will have to wait in your cellar.
The blend of the 2021 vintage is 35% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Franc and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon.
The wine, which is certified organic, was matured for 16 months in oak barrels, 40% of which were new.
Château Canon La Gaffelière is a Premier Grand Cru Classé in Saint-Émilion and was certified organic in 2014., it has been owned by Count von Neipperg since 1971 and managed by Stephan Von Neipperg since 1984, who own 2 other Saint Emilion Crus Classés, Mondotte (1er Grand Cru Classé) and Clos de l'Oratoire (Grand Cru Classé).
The Canon-la-Gaffelière vineyard, located on the south side of Saint-Emilion, is planted mainly with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, with a smaller proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon.
