Château CLINET is one of the most prestigious estates in the Pomerol region, and one of the finest wines in this famous terroir. Successive generations of owners have produced world-renowned wines. Situated 40 km east of Bordeaux, the unique terroir of Pomerol, with its clay soils and favourable microclimates, contributes to the uniqueness and complexity of the wines produced by the château. Château Clinet is one of the most emblematic estates in the Pomerol region and is often regarded as one of the benchmarks for high-quality wine. The wines of Château Clinet are distinguished by their depth, rich aromas and elegant structure.

THE HISTORY
The estate is located in one of the oldest vineyards in the appellation, dating back to 1595, and is also one of the most famous, renowned for the exceptional quality and character of its unrivalled wines.
From the late 18th century onwards, the estate was devoted exclusively to wine production. Indeed, the Belleyme map, published in 1785 and produced by the geographer responsible for mapping Guyenne, reveals an estate entirely covered in vineyards at that time.
In 1825, Château Clinet underwent its first change of ownership, coming under the control of the Arnaud family, who also owned the not-yet-famous Petrus. The 1980s marked a particularly prosperous period for this Pomerol vineyard. Under the direction of Jean-Michel Arcaute, Georges Audy's son-in-law, daring growing methods for the time, such as green harvesting and over-ripe grapes, were introduced with great success, leading to rave reviews for the wines of Château Clinet.
Ronan Laborde, a passionate marathon runner, shows talent and determination in all his projects, and is used to pushing back the limits, serving as an example to all. In 2004, he took on the dreams of Château Clinet, which had been a family property since 1999. Ronan and the entire Clinet team have devoted years to major transformations, including replanting, developing environmentally-friendly practices, building new production facilities and reorganising the distribution of Clinet wines.
CHÂTEAU CLINET, THE PROPERTY
Château Clinet is just a few hundred metres from the church in Pomerol and covers 11 hectares of vines. The main grape varieties grown on the estate are 88% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Sauvignon.
The vines, which have an average age of 42 years, are rooted in soils composed of Günzian gravel, sand and clay. Pomerol, located close to renowned right bank appellations such as Saint-Émilion and Lalande de Pomerol, has a gentle oceanic climate characterised by low temperatures and high rainfall.
A special feature of the estate is the parcel known as 'La Grand Vigne'. Planted exclusively with Merlot and dating back to 1943, this terroir reveals all its depth and authenticity through grapes that harmoniously combine rare concentration with a rich palette of aromas. Under the direction of Ronan Laborde, Château Clinet embodies a deep respect for its history and terroir, as well as a rigorous and passionate commitment to the management of its vineyards and the meticulous production of exceptional wines.
Since 2004, under the direction of Ronan Laborde, Château Clinet has been showcasing the richness of its terroir while preserving the environment through replanting, eco-responsible practices, and rigorous care of the vines, all to magnify this exceptional vineyard on the appellation's high plateau.

VINIFICATION
FROM THE VINE TO THE CELLAR
The grapes entering the winery undergo a rigorous selection process to be included in the making of the new Clinet vintage. A second sorting stage is carried out, where they pass through a Deltat Rflow high-speed air-blade sorter, followed by a final meticulous selection by hand. This ensures that only the best berries reach the vats.
A state-of-the-art press controls the differentiated extraction of juice from the grape skins, each with its own characteristics. Conical containers allow the berries to be transported gently, by gravity, into their dedicated vats.
FROM THE CELLAR TO THE BOTTLE
In the winery, the juices from the different plots are isolated in small temperature-controlled stainless steel vats dedicated to fermentation. Separated in this way, even during barrel ageing, the natural and unique characteristics of each parcel are allowed to express themselves.
It is not until the final blending that they are finally brought together, in proportions that allow a delicate balance of complex flavours, which, while blending with each other, remain subtly identifiable.
The wine is aged for around sixteen months, mainly in French, German and Austrian oak barrels. The characteristics of the barrels are chosen according to the requirements of the wine. That's why we have a whole selection of barrels (different heats, different sizes) made by several coopers.
In 2006, Château Clinet unveiled its second wine, Fleur de Clinet. Produced from three terroirs typical of the appellation and matured for 12 months in two-wine casks, Fleur de Clinet combines freshness with a highly precise palette of aromas.

The wines of Château Clinet are the result of a constant quest for excellence, balance and harmony. From vintage to vintage, they seduce with their finesse, delicacy, freshness and the velvety texture for which this jewel of Pomerol is renowned.
Château Clinet, owned by the Laborde family, is a refined red wine made mainly from Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Franc (20%). It has silky tannins, medium body and a savoury finish with notes of redcurrant and red fruit. This wine, both opulent and powerful on the palate, has excellent cellaring potential, easily lasting 10 years or more.

Fleur de Clinet, the second wine of Château Clinet, is distinguished by its finesse on both the nose and the palate. Its bouquet reveals charming aromas of red fruit and flowers, while its supple tannins and delicacy give way to fine nuances of candied fruit on the palate. More accessible in its youth than the grand vin, this Pomerol offers pleasant ageing potential to be discovered over time.
