In this 2021 vintage, Château d'Aiguilhe consolidates its position as the leading wine of the Côtes de Castillon.
The colour is a dark purple, almost black.
The nose gives off aromas of black fruit with hints of spice and wood.
The palate is rich and full, with powerful tannins and good balance. The lingering finish is the hallmark of a wine for laying down.
The blend for the 2021 vintage is 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc.
The wine was matured in French oak barrels, 30% of which were new, for 12 months.
Château d'Aiguilhe is considered to be one of the finest vineyards in Castillon-Côtes de Bordeaux, near Saint-Émilion. it is owned by Count von Neipperg and since 1984 has been managed by Stephan Von Neipperg, who owns 3 Saint Emilion Crus Classés ,la Mondotte and Canon la Gaffelière (1er Grand Cru Classé) and Clos de l'Oratoire (Grand Cru Classé).
