In this 2021 vintage, Château Ducru Beaucaillou presents us with a wine that is truly typical of the Médoc, practically made up of Cabernet Sauvignon (98%)
The critics have rewarded the wine with magnificent scores, Suckling 96-97-100.
To the eye, the colour is a deep red with purple highlights.
On the nose, black fruits such as blackberry and cherry emerge, followed by complex aromas of cocoa, coffee and spices.
On the palate, the attack is greedy, with dense, concentrated fruit, combined with good length and plenty of freshness. The finish is elegant, with very present, silky tannins.
Of course, this Saint Julien wine is by no means ready to drink; it will have to wait patiently in your cellar for at least the next 5 years before being opened.
The blend of the 2021 vintage is 98% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Merlot.
The 2021 vintage is matured in 100% new oak barrels for 18 months.
12bouteilles' advice: A bottle to forget in your cellar! If you feel like tasting it, decant the bottle at least 6 hours beforehand and serve chilled at around 18°C. It goes wonderfully with red meats and cheeses.
