La Croix Ducru-Beaucaillou 2021 is a wine that has seduced us with its finesse and elegance.
This is a vintage that can wait for many years in your cellar, but can also be enjoyed young thanks to its silky tannins and perfect balance.
The colour is a deep garnet.
The nose is seductive, with notes of black fruit followed by aromas of vanilla.
The palate is full-bodied, smooth, long and elegant. The fruit comes through, followed by a lingering finish with harmonious tannins.
The blend for the 2021 vintage is 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot.
The wines have been aged in oak barrels, of which around 4% are new.
La Croix de Ducru-Beaucaillou is the second wine of Château Ducru-Beaucaillou, one of the largest estates in the Saint-Julien appellation with 245 hectares.
The Chateau owes its fame to its illustrious owners, Bertrand Ducru and then Jean Eugène Borie, who acquired the property in 1941.
Château Ducru-Beaucaillou has 75 hectares of vines on its estate, which are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
Always keen to make great wines, Bruno Borie has been producing this excellent second wine for a number of years, made from a drastic selection of the first wine.
