Château Grand-Puy Lacoste is located on the Bages plateau in Pauillac. It was born out of a division of the great Grand Puy estate in the 18th century, which produced the castles of Lynch-Bages and Grand Puy Ducasse. François-Xavier Borie was ranked the fifth largest wine-growing estate in 1855, and successfully raised Grand-Puy Lacoste to the highest level of the best winery in Pauillac. The winery's second wine is called Lacoste-Borie.
Grand Puy Lacoste 2018 is a true Pauillac, structured with volume in a relatively rich style and a very elegant woodiness. It is composed of Cabernet-Sauvignon 78% and Merlot 22%, two grape varieties giving it a dense and warm lamb's lettuce with a texture that has yet to take on a patina. Its colour is a deep ruby red with purple highlights. Its bouquet gives off aromas of black fruits with hints of cedar and heather . Beautiful attack on the palate, fine tannins, with a tension that carries the wine to a long and harmonious finish.
The advice for 12 bottles: Decant this bottle at least 2 hours before tasting it.
