In this 2021 vintage, Château Gruaud Larose is a well-balanced, aromatic wine with fine tannins.
The wine has a very pretty floral bouquet, fresh fruit with slightly spicy notes on the finish.
The palate is juicy, with a clean, well-fruited attack, combined with a lovely freshness and tension, tannins that have already melted, almost too much, but the whole is homogeneous and delicate. A bottle that can be enjoyed straight away.
The blend is made up of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc.
80% of the wine was matured in new barrels for 18 months.
12bottle tip: A bottle to forget in your cellar for at least the next 5 years. If you feel like tasting it, decant the bottle at least 6 hours beforehand and serve chilled at around 18°c. It goes wonderfully with red meats and cheeses.
In the appellation , you may also like Château Léoville Las Cases , Château Léoville Poyferré, Château Ducru-Beaucaillou, Chateau Beychevelle, Chateau Branaire Ducru, Chateau Lagrange, Chateau Saint Pierre ...
