In this 2021 vintage, Chateau l'évangile is a magnificent wine, a great Pomerol, an aromatic wine with a lot of freshness and elegance.
The colour is garnet, purple and deep, with very ripe fruit, the palate is full, long and greedy. We particularly appreciated the finesse of the tannins and the freshness of the Merlot, enhanced by the Cabernet Franc.
The blend of the 2021 vintage is made up of 69% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon.
The 2021 vintage was matured for 18 months in French oak barrels, 70% of which were new.
12bouteilles advice: Definitely one to keep in your cellar, but if you ever open this magnificent bottle, decant it at least 3 or even 6 hours before tasting, and serve chilled at around 18°c. It goes perfectly with meats and firm cheeses.
Chateau l'Evangile produces a second wine, Blason de l'Evangile, which you can find in the best vintages on 12bouteilles.com.
In the Pomerol appellation, you may also like the following ChateauxNénin, Petrus, La Conseillante, Vieux Chateau Certan, , Gazin, Lafleur, Beauregard, Clinet
