La Fleur de Bouard 2015
Bordeaux - Lalande de Pomerol - Red Wine -Château la Fleur de Bouärd is a domain managed by Hubert de Bouard, who also owns the fabulous Château Angélus.
Produced with the same know-how as the Saint Emilion giant, Fleur de Bouärd is one of the greatest wines of the Lalande de Pomerol appellation.
Assembled 85% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon, harvested under excellent conditions, this 2015 vintage expresses refreshing aromas of chocolate mint, cocoa powder and figs and petal notes. of red rose. In the mouth, the attack is lively and greedy, the tannins are velvety. A very nice wine, generous, with controlled balance.
The advice of 12bouteilles: This great Pomerol deserves a rest of a few years in cellar (4-6 years). Do not hesitate to decant at least 2 hour before serving between 16 ° C and 18 ° C. For a perfect match, enjoy it with a good duck breast or a beauf rib.
"The 2015 Fleur de Bouard has a powerful redcurrant, wild strawberry and almost, confit-like bouquet that manages to retain satisfactory delineation and freshness. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy ripe tannin, layers of blackberry and blueberry fruit laced with white pepper and a touch of soy, leading to a structured finish. It will need 4-6 years in bottle for those tannins to soften and approach its drinking window. I would just like more joie-de-vivre - it seems too serious at this stage." - Wine Advocate-Parker
