Bordeaux - Saint-Émilion - 2nd Wine - Red Wine -Château La Gaffelière is the property of the Malet Roquefort family, the oldest owners in Saint Emilion. Classified as 1er Grand Cru B, the wines of the Château are typical Saint-Emilion with a predominance of Merlot.
Clos la Gaffelière is the second wine of the Château, it benefits from the same attentions of vinification and aging as the 1st wine, aged in oak barrels for 12 months. From the youngest vines of the property, it remains more accessible than the first wine and will quickly be ready to drink.
The 2018 vintage is a real success and is now delicious to drink. It has a dark red colour. On the nose, one discovers a beautiful medium intensity, fruity and ripe. On the palate, we find lightness, the wine is tasty with a long and smooth finish.
Our advice 12bottles: We like young wines, this one, decanted 2 hours before serving, is a pure delight on a cheese platter or white meat.
