Château la Gaffelière 2021 is a very elegant wine with great finesse, a fine balance between black fruits, good acidity and silky tannins. We love it!
To the eye, an intense red colour with violet highlights
On the nose, black fruits such as blackberry and cherry come to the fore, followed by woody and vanilla notes
On the palate, the attack is greedy and well-fruited, with good length and plenty of freshness. The finish is elegant, with silky tannins.
Château la Gaffelière 2021 is a Saint Emilion wine that will lie forgotten in your cellar for years to come.
Since Alexandre de Mallet took over from his father Léo, the quality of the wines has improved considerably. The tasting notes for this vintage are excellent, all above 96.
The blend for the 2021 vintage is made up of 58% Merlot and 42% Cabernet Franc.
The wine is matured in 60% new barrels for 15 months.
12bouteilles' suggestion: A wine that will wait a few years in your cellar, but that you can already enjoy with great pleasure. Decant the bottle at least 6 hours before serving, and serve chilled at around 18°C. It is the perfect accompaniment to red meats and cheeses.
