In this 2021 vintage, we were won over by its balance between crisp fruit, well-melted tannins and fine acidity, a guarantee of longevity for this bottle.
To the eye, the colour is an intense red, almost black, with violet highlights.
On the nose, black fruits emerge, blueberries and cherries, followed by woody and vanilla notes.
On the palate, the attack is full-bodied and well-fruited, with a lovely freshness followed by a harmonious length and ripe tannins.
Blend: 48% Merlot , 46% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Cabernet Franc .
Ageing: 100% in barrel for 15 months, 75% of which are new.
Château la Mission Haut Brion is one of the Clarence Dillon estates, along with Chateau Haut Brion, also in Pessac Léognan, and Chateau Quintus in Saint Emilion.
12bottle tip: This bottle should be forgotten for years in your cellar ... but if you want to enjoy it now, decant it at least 6 hours before serving. It will go wonderfully with red meat, game and cheese.
