In this 2021 vintage, Château Lafite Rothschild is a beautifully fresh wine that should be kept for several years to appreciate its full complexity.
This 2021 vintage has a beautiful, intense dark colour.
The nose is highly aromatic, with aromas of ripe fruit on the attack, followed by tannins.
On the palate, it is intense, with powerful minerality, concentration, finesse and ultra-density, but with such perfect balance that it already seems approachable.
The blend for this 2021 vintage is 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot.
A very, very great Pauillac made almost exclusively from Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2021 vintage was rated 97/100 by James Suckling.
12bouteilles' advice: Although our advice is not to open this magnificent bottle before it is 10 years old, if you feel like tasting it, decant this bottle at least 6 hours before drinking, keep it in a cool place and serve it at 18°C. This still young wine will go wonderfully with all your red meats, game and cheese platters.
In the Pauillac appellation , you may also like Châteaux Latour, Mouton-Rothschild, Pontet Canet, Lynch-Bages, Pedesclaux, Pichon Baron, Pichon Lalande, Grand Puy Lacoste ...
Notes for the 2021 Vintage :
Terre de Vins : 97-98/100
Anthocynanes Y. Castaing : 96-98/100
Figaro : 95-98/100
