Bordeaux - Pessac-Leognan - Cru Classé - Red Wine -This bottle of Chateau Latour Martillac red 2021 is full of charm.
To the eye, it is an intense red colour with violet highlights.
On the nose, black fruits such as blackberry and cherry emerge, followed by hints of liquorice.
On the palate, the attack is luscious and well-fruited, with good length and plenty of freshness. The finish is elegant, with silky tannins.
Major investments have been made on the estate with a new vinification cellar. The quality of the wine has greatly improved, producing more concentrated, richer wines, and this 2021 vintage is a fine example, a magnificent Pessac Léognan that will appeal to lovers of this appellation.
Château Latour Martillac continues to offer excellent value for money, and is a bottle to have in your cellar.
The blend for the 2021 vintage is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot.
The wine was matured for 12 months in oak barrels, 40% of which were new.
12bouteilles advice : A wine that can wait a few years in your cellar, but that you can already enjoy with great pleasure. Decant the bottle at least 2 hours before serving and serve chilled at around 18°C. It is the perfect accompaniment to red meats and cheeses.
