This 2021 vintage of Chateau Léoville Las Cases is remarkably fresh, with magnificent aromatic complexity and beautiful elegance.
The color is a deep, infinite red!
The nose is expressive, with a concentration of ripe red fruits and floral notes, followed by a very elegant oaky note.
Long on the palate, powerful, generous, fleshy, and delicious. A fresh attack, the mid-palate texture is enveloping and reveals a precise tannic structure and a finesse typical of Saint Julien.
The blend of the 2021 vinatge is made of 80% Cabernet sauvignon 15% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot
The 2021 vintage was aged in French oak barrels for 18 months.
Le conseil de 12bouteilles : Léoville Las Cases wines are always good for long aging. This 2021 vintage, even though it's a lighter vintage, should be kept for a few years before tasting. If you want to enjoy this bottle, decant it at least 3 hours before serving and serve chilled at around 17°C. It would be delicious with grilled red meat; in the Médoc region, a nice prime rib with raw shallots would be ideal.
