Château Léoville Poyferré 2014 is a complete wine, with an explosive fruit, combined with a nice fat and persistence, this 2014 is once again one of the great successes of the vintage. Admirable tannic frame.
This is one of our favorites in this vintage, one of the most remarkable bottles of Saint Julien and Medoc in general. A magnificent 2nd Classified Growth!
The dress is dark and shiny color. The nose is subtle and complex. It reveals to the agitation notes of red fruits, spices and liquorice. In Mouth Attack fresh and intense, then fruity and fleshy in the middle of the mouth. A sustained nale with ns, racy, long and melted finishes a nice creaminess in the mouth.
2014, a vintage in harmony with Château Léoville Poyferre
The 2014 vintage comes from an assemblage: 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc.
Neil Martin for Wine Advocate - Robert Parker 91-93 / 100:
It has one of the most opulent set of aromatics of the appellation, with creme de cassis, and a small bottle of cherries - an extravagant bouquet in the context of the growing season. The palate is full-bodied with great density and power. There is a lot of weight in this St Julien, spicy in the mouth with a healthy pinch of white pepper towards the nish that feels long in the mouth, although I would like to see you through the time of bottling. As usual, this one of the most decadent St Julien wines, but one that is well-crafted by Didier Cuvelier. Give this several years in bottle.
The advice of 12bouteilles: A vintage Château Léoville Poyferre that borders on us perfection. Do not hesitate for a second if you are a fan of Saint Julien it's a magic bottle. Potential of guard: 5 to 10 years, serve it after 1h in carafe.
