The second wine of Château Margaux, produced since 1908,Pavillon Rouge du Château Margaux, is one of the oldest known second-rate wines. It accounts for 50% of production and is made from a rigorous selection of excellent wines and young vines from the estate. Rich, full-bodied, with a light aroma of blackcurrant and vanilla. The blend for the 2016 vintage is 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot.
The wine was matured in oak barrels, 50% of which were new.
