Château Montrose 2020
Bordeaux - Saint-Estèphe - 2e Cru ClasséCru Classé - Red Wine -
Château Montrose 2020 is a well-balanced, powerful and rich wine with plenty of freshness a wine well representative of its Saint-Estèphe appellation.
The grapes produced were ripe, rich and very aromatic. To the eye, the wine is an almost black ruby-red colour with violet highlights. On the nose, a mixture of black fruits and spices emerge, followed by woody and vanilla aromas. On the palate, the attack is straightforward, round, fruity and harmonious, finishing with powerful tannins.
The blend for the 2020 vintage is 71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot.
Ageing: 90% in new French oak barrels, 10% in tuns.
Château Montrose also produces a second wine: the Dame de Montrose 2020.
The 12bouteilles advice : Forget about this bottle for a few years in your cellar, it will improve over the years. If you decide to taste it, decant it at least 6 hours before serving, serve the wine chilled at around 16-18°c. It goes perfectly with red meats, game and cheese platters.
In appellation Saint Estèphe, you may also like Chateau Lafon Rochet, Château Phélan-Ségur, Château Haut-Marbuzet or also Château Cos d'Estournel.
