Château Mouton Rothschild 2018

Bordeaux - Pauillac - 1er Cru Classé - Red Wine -

The 2018 vintage of Château Mouton Rothschild has been voted best wine in the world by Fine Wine Magazine and the TastingBook platform.

Tasting notes for the 2018 vintage:
The colour is intense and deep black.
The nose reveals a beautiful intensity of ripe fruit combined with notes of nutmeg, all nuanced by hints of menthol
On the palate, the attack is full, rich and refined with aromas of blackberries and cherries highlighted by slightly spicy nuances. The abundant, creamy, coated tannins mingle with the confectionery flavours, giving the wine an impression of greediness.
An excellent balance between fruit and tannins gives way to a finish of great finesse and exceptional length.

The blend for the 2018 vintage is 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc.

Château Mouton-Rothschild was classified 1er Cru classé de Pauillac in 1973, the only Médoc wine to have been reclassified since 1855.

12bouteilles suggestion: a wine with good ageing potential, to be enjoyed at around 16-18°C.

The label for this 2018 vintage was designed by contemporary Chinese artist Xu Bing..
