Tasting notes - Château Pontet Canet 2015:
Appearance: an impressively intense color.
Taste: complex, dominated by fresh fruit, supported by black fruits (cherry, plum) and vanilla.
Palate: immense, powerful, vibrant, with extreme suavity. The whole is carried by a freshness that makes the finish very tasty. This wine has an invigorating energy! An immense vintage designed to endure the years.
"We'll certainly be writing for a long time about the virtues of this 2015, designed to live through the years. The palate is immense, powerful, vibrant, but also endowed with extreme suavity. Pontet-Canet remains a benchmark that cultivates its own distinctive style. - Olivier Poels - La Revue des Vins de France
LA RVF awarded it a rare 100 points (20/20), Robert Parker 97/100, and James Suckling 98/100.
12bouteilles' recommendation: With this release in 2025, 10 years after the harvest, the Château now offers access to a perfect, accessible vintage. This is obviously a long-ageing wine that can be enjoyed now or kept over time.
