To the eye, the colour is an intense red with violet highlights
On the nose, red fruits emerge, raspberries, followed by woody and vanilla notes
On the palate, the attack is straightforward, well-fruited, combined with a lovely freshness and harmonious length.
Blend for the 2021 vintage: 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot and 9% Cabernet Franc and 7% Petit Verdot
Ageing: 50% in new barrels for 15 months
Chateau Saint Pierre is owned by the Triaud family, who also own Chateau Gloria, its neighbour in Saint Julien.
12Bottle suggestion: This bottle can wait for years in your cellar, but you can enjoy it now, because of its finesse and silky, ripe tannins. Decant at least 6 hours before serving. It is the perfect accompaniment to red meats and cheeses.
