This 2021 vintage has produced some great white wines in Bordeaux. Chateau Smith Haut Laffitte is a great success that we love. The wine has obtained fantastic scores for this 2021 vintage, 98-99 by James Suckling.
The colour is pale yellow.
The nose is expressive, with concentrated ripe yellow fruit and floral notes, followed by a very elegant woodiness.
The palate is generous, fleshy and greedy. Fresh on the attack, the mid-palate texture is enveloping and reveals a fine acidity.
Château Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc has undoubtedly become one of Bordeaux's greatest white wines.
The blend of the 2021 vintage is made up of 90% Sauvignon Blanc, 5% Sémillon and 5% Sauvignon Gris
The 2021 vintage was matured on the lees for 12 months in French oak barrels, 50% of which were new.
The wine is certified organic.
12bouteilles' advice: a white wine for laying down that will age magnificently. If you want to enjoy the bottle, we recommend decanting it an hour before serving at around 12°. This wine will go wonderfully with white fish, turbot for example, and cheese.
