In this 2021 vintage, Château Talbot is a well-balanced wine with soft tannins and a lovely freshness, a wine that is already fairly approachable.
To the eye, the wine is a violet-black colour
On the nose, black fruits emerge, blackcurrants and cherries, followed by woody and vanilla notes
On the palate, the attack is straightforward and fruity, with good length and freshness and all the finesse of a Saint Julien wine.
The blend for the 2021 vintage is made up of 24% Merlot, 71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot.
Aged for 15 months in French oak barrels, 60% of which were new.
4th Grand Cru Classé Saint-Julien in the Médoc, Château Talbot extends over 107 hectares of cultivated vines in the commune of Saint-Julien, an outstanding appellation with no fewer than 11 crus classés. Ideally situated on the edge of the Gironde estuary, on ridges of alluvial gravel washed down from the Massif Central by the Dordogne and from the Pyrenees by the Garonne, the terroir of Château Talbot is exceptional.

If you like young, fruity, crisp wines, don't hesitate to enjoy this bottle straight away. Decant the bottle at least 2 hours before serving and serve chilled at around 18°C. It is the perfect accompaniment to red meats and cheeses.
