Château Thivin : Cuvée Zaccharie 2022

Beaujolais - Côte de Brouilly - Red Wine -

This Château Thivin "Cuvée Zaccharie" 2022 illustrates its elegance, preserving its potential for prolonged cellaring.  Although patience is required, all the elements for an exceptional success are already present: mature, concentrated aromas, highlighting stone fruit and black cherry, a fleshy, tannic structure, perfectly wrapped, carried by remarkable tension and pronounced freshness.

Tasting notes:

Colour: red with a beautiful intensity

Nose: aromas of black cherry and stone fruit.

On the palate: well-developed tannins and a generous mouthful of perfectly ripe fruit. This cuvée reveals a remarkable liveliness, offering a juice of exceptional freshness and remarkable persistence.

The 12bouteilles advice : To be enjoyed between 16 and 18°C, this wine goes perfectly with charcuterie, Beaujolais sausage, roast squab and its juice. Its exceptional quality means it can be enjoyed now and aged elegantly until 2035, offering wine lovers an even more rewarding experience.

Château Thivin is the estate's prestige cuvee, named in honour of Zaccharie Geoffray. It is made from a blend, after ageing, of the best wine from parcels in Côte de Brouilly, mainly from the oldest Gamay Noir vines with white juice (around 50 years old), "La Chapelle" and "Godefroy".

Château Thivin is one of the oldest estates in the Beaujolais region, in the Côte de Brouilly appellation, and is located in Odenas. Since 1743, the Geoffray family has passed on from generation to generation its passion for the winegrowing profession, its respect for the terroir, its invaluable know-how and its quest for excellence. Today, the 5th and 6th generations of the Geoffray family run this small family business, working the estate's vines and vinifying each wine in keeping with its original terroir, as the seasons change.

The estate's vineyards are mainly located on the Crus, Côte-de-Brouilly and Brouilly, but they also produce white, rosé and effervescent Beaujolais cuvées from the most magnificent Beaujolais vineyards.
