La Petite Sibérie 2021 - Clos des Fées

Languedoc - Côtes du Roussillon - Red Wine -

Côtes de Roussillon village appellation , La Petite Sibérie is the first wine from Domaine du Clos des Fées.

The blend of 96% Grenache noir, 2% Mourvèdre and 2% Syrah comes from a single parcel of old vines on the southern slope of an east-west facing hillock. An icy north-westerly wind blows across the plot more than 200 days a year. The terroir of schist and mica-schist with an exceptional iron content is the focus of unique attention.

Tasting notes :

Colour: Intense red

Nose: A rich nose imbued with ripe red fruit.

Palate: an impressive, powerful and fresh attack, evolving in the glass for several hours. Aromatic complexity and breathtaking length.

La Petit Sibérie 2021 is an endearing, extremely changeable wine with breathtaking length that can be cellared until 2046, if you know how to wait!

12bouteilles advice: This great wine from “Clos des Fées” needs time to reveal all its facets. With an ageing potential of 30 years, it will develop over at least 10 years.

The Clos des Fées estate is ideally situated in the heart of the Vallée d'Algie in the south of France. Isolated in a desert of garrigues, this property is a real jewel of the Côtes du Roussillon. Hervé Bizeul, a former restaurateur and writer, creates vintages with a unique character and a highly varied style.
