In this 2021 vintage, Clos du Marquis is a charming wine with all the finesse of the great wines of Saint Julien.
The color is dark black with violet highlights.
The nose is intense and aromatic, releasing notes of black fruits such as blackcurrant, cherry, and blueberry.
On the palate, the wine is very refined, with ripe tannins that are still very present, masked by a beautiful length typical of great Cabernets. Magnificent!
The Blend of the 2021 vintage is made of 67% de Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot et 14% de Cabernet Franc.
Clos du Marquis belongs to the Delon family, which also owns Château Léoville Las Cases in Saint-Julien, Château Potensac in the Médoc, and Château Nénin in Pomerol.
12bouteilles' recommendation : Clos du Marquis 2021 is a wine that will need to wait a few years to reach maturity. If you decide to enjoy it, decant the bottle at least two hours before serving; it will pair wonderfully with red meats. Serve chilled at around 16°C.
In Saint-Julien appellation, you may also like Château Léoville Las cases, Château Léoville Poyferré, Château Léoville Barton, Château Ducru-Beaucaillou, Chateau Beychevelle, Chateau Branaire Ducru, Chateau Lagrange, Chateau Talbot ...
