La Closerie Fourtet 2020
Bordeaux - Saint-Émilion - 1er Cru Classé - Red Wine -La Closerie de Fourtet 2020, 2nd wine of the Château Clos Fourtet is for us one of the best value for money among the second wines of 1ers Cru Classés.
In this 2020 vintage, the nose is very aromatic of black fruit, blackcurrant blueberry, on the palate, it's the crispness that we really liked, then the finesse of the tannins.
La Closerie de Fourtet in this 2020 vintage is a blend of 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 85% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc.
Sourced from the estate's young vines, the wines are matured with the same care as the first wine.
Maturing lasts 12 to 15 months in barrels, 60% of which are new. It will be more accessible than the first wine and easier to drink young.
It is delicious now.
Clos Fourtet, Saint Émilion premier grand cru classé, is located in the heart of the village of Saint Emilion on the plateau overlooking the vineyards. The 20-hectare vineyard is surrounded by low walls that give this bucolic aspect to the crus classés located on this plateau of Saint-Émilion.
Owned since 2001 by the Cuvelier family, Clos Fourtet confirmed its place as Premier Cru Classé in 2012 thanks to their passionate work, the estate is currently converting to biodynamic farming.
