Clos Fourtet, Saint Émilion premier grand cru Classé, is located in the heart of the village of Saint Emilion on the plateau which dominates the vineyard.The area of 20 hectares of vines is surrounded by low walls which give this bucolic aspect to the classified growths located on this plateau of Saint-Émilion.
Owned since 2001 by the Cuvelier family, Clos Fourtet confirms its place as Premier Cru Classé in 2012 thanks to their passionate work, the estate is currently in conversion to biodynamics.
Fruit of a blend of Merlot (90%), Cabernet Sauvignon (7%) and Cabernet Franc (3%),
La Closerie de Fourtet is the second wine of Clos Fourtet. It is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. From the young vines of the property, the wines are aged with the same care as the first wine. Aging lasts 12 to 15 months in barrels, 60% of which are new. It will be more accessible than the first wine and easier to drink young. It's delicious now.
