Rhone Valley - Châteauneuf-du-Pape - Red Wine -Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Cailloux "Cuvée Centenaire" 2019 is a cuvée produced by the Domaine André Brunel. Made from the oldest plot in Châteauneuf-du-pape named Fargueirol, it is made of very old Grenache over 120 years old (84%), Mourvèdre (10%) and Syrah (6%). It bears the predestined name of Centenaire and has very good ageing potential. This 2019 is a powerful vintage that will require patience. This great wine becomes more complex with age, 10 years of ageing is necessary for its potential to begin to reveal itself.
Tasting notes:
The Robe: ruby red
Nose: notes of violet, small red fruits
The palate: full of finesse, a beautiful structure with an elegant and silky texture and fine tannins. The finish is fruity, with a great density.
The advice of 12bouteilles: This wine becomes more complex with age and needs to be aged for a few decades. To be served at a temperature of 15°C, it will perfectly accompany red meat, a game or to be tasted without accompaniment, only for the pleasure of drinking great wine.
The Laurent Roumier Estate, located in Chambolle-Musigny, is part of the famous George Roumier estate, founded in 1924. Today Laurent Roumier, cousin of Christophe Roumier who runs the Domaine George Roumier, owns a dozen hectares of vines with an average age of 35 years and cultivated in a reasoned manner. The vineyard extends over different appellations of Burgundy: Hautes Côtes de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny, Bonnes-Mares and Clos Vougeot. The latter applies a traditional vinification to sublimate each grape variety and to highlight the richness of the terroirs of the domain.
