Boris Champy : Hautes-Côtes de Beaune "Bignon 421" 2021
Burgundy - Haute Côte de Beaune - Red Wine -In the 2021 vintage, Hautes-Côtes de Beaune wines stand out from previous years for their remarkable precision and intensity. Notes of red berries blend harmoniously with nuances of blond tobacco and spices, creating a delicious mouthfeel. The sweetness is supported by soft tannins, and the generous yet supple palate offers an exceptionally long finish.
Tasting notes:
The robe: an attractive, intense ruby red.
The nose: Delicate finesse and a fragrant bouquet evoking floral notes. These envelop aromas of plum, black cherry, sweet cherry, redcurrant and lingonberry.
The palate: This wine is distinguished by its delicacy, lively acidity, expression of pure, subtle fruit, discreet presence of phenols and minimal extraction. The finish skilfully combines the lively freshness of red mountain fruit with the emblematic spicy character of refined Pinot Noir.
This wine comes from our parcel called "En Bignon" in Bouze-les-Beaune. From 2020 onwards, it will proudly bear the name "Altitude 421" and the mention of the lieu-dit "En Bignon" on its label.
The soil of this parcel is rich in red clay, confirming the well-known saying in Burgundy: "red earth, soil conducive to red". The altitude, at 421 metres, provides a cool climate that preserves the freshness of the grapes, ideal conditions for producing elegant, delicate wines. From their plots, we can see the Col de Bessey en Chaume, culminating at 532 meters, the highest point on the road between Paris and Marseille.
The advice 12bouteilles : A wine for aperitifs with friends, very jovial and at ease with a platter of cold meats or a vegetable flan, to be cellared for 3 to 7 years to fully appreciate its evolution.
