Domaine Boris Champy, founded in 1984 by Didier Montchovet, is a story rooted in the family's passion for viticulture. The son of a winegrower from Nantoux, Didier chose from the outset to cultivate his vines according to organic and biodynamic principles. In harmony with nature, he listened to the needs of his vines and worked with respect to preserve the balance of the ecosystem. Today, the estate is proud to be certified biodynamic by Demeter, testifying to its long-standing commitment to this respectful approach to nature.
Over the years, the estate has expanded its surface area by acquiring smaller parcels, enriching its range of terroirs and diversifying its production. In 1990, two large plots were planted in lyre shape, a method of vine training that favors better exposure to the sun and better aeration of the bunches. This innovation testifies to the estate's determination to explore new approaches to optimize grape quality.
In 2019, the estate entered a new chapter with the takeover by Boris Champy, former technical director of the prestigious Maison Louis Latour and steward of the famous Clos de Lambrays. Drawing on his experience and expertise, Boris has brought a new vision to the estate, while respecting the foundations established by Didier Montchovet. His commitment to excellence and in-depth knowledge of Burgundy terroirs have enabled the tradition of producing exceptional wines to continue.
Today, Domaine Boris Champy extends over 12 hectares, offering a true range of terroirs and grape varieties. Thanks to rigorous viticultural practices, the passion of the entire team and the faithful expression of the terroir, the domaine produces sublime wines. Each bottle is the result of meticulous work and a deep connection with nature, telling the story of Burgundy through captivating flavours and aromas.

The Domaine Boris Champy, located in Nantoux in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune region of Burgundy, extends over a magnificent territory made up of different parcels. With a total surface area of 12 hectares, the vines are spread over three distinct sectors, each with its own viticultural identity.
The Hautes-Côtes de Beaune are home to three distinct plots of land that benefit from specific exposure, varied altitudes and richly diverse soils. These include clay-limestone and stony soils, offering a range of terroirs ideal for viticulture. These soil variations give the grapes specific characteristics, adding complexity to the wines produced.
La Côte also boasts three parcels, adding another dimension to the vineyard. Soils and exposure also vary here, contributing to the diversity of the wines produced. These ideal conditions are conducive to the production of fine, well-balanced wines, without excess alcohol and with good acidity, characteristics that are highly prized in the region.
Finally, the "A Côt(és)" sector is made up of three parcels, where the production of white and red wines is given pride of place. Each parcel benefits from its own microclimate and unique characteristics, giving the grapes varied expression and offering a diverse range of wines.

It all starts with the harvest, a crucial moment in the winemaking process. Attentive winemakers carefully examine the ripeness of the grapes before harvesting them by hand. This traditional method carefully selects the fruit most conducive to the production of quality wines.
Once the grapes have been harvested, vinification is undertaken with little intervention. Boris Champy prefers to let the indigenous yeasts, naturally present in the grapes, carry out the fermentation. This choice preserves the unique identity of each vineyard parcel. Fermentations are carefully controlled, with temperatures adjusted to obtain the best results.
In the ageing process, the wines are placed in barrels for several months. This is where the barrels slowly begin to imprint their distinctive character on the wine. However, the domaine prefers to use barrels that are not very distinctive, thus avoiding dominating the wine's aromas with overly pronounced woody notes. This subtle approach preserves the natural expression of terroir and grape varieties.
In addition, the Domaine limits the use of new barrels. This decision is taken to avoid an excessive influence of wood on the wine, allowing the specific characteristics of the grapes and the winemaking process to express themselves fully. The end result is a range of authentic wines, where the soul of each parcel is revealed with subtlety and elegance.

Domaine Boris Champy offers a varied selection of red and white cuvées from several renowned appellations.
In the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune appellation, three exceptional red wines are highlighted, all made from 100% Pinot Noir. Bignon 421", "Clou 377" and "Altitude" each offer a unique experience with their distinct aromatic profiles. An elegant white wine made from 100% Chardonnay, "Montagne 382", completes the range.
In the Beaune 1er Cru appellation, the Domaine offers two red wines made exclusively from 100% Pinot Noir. "Aux Coucherias" and "Vignes Franches" embody the excellence of this prestigious appellation, reflecting the elegance and complexity of the grape variety.
Domaine Boris Champy also features a remarkable red wine from the Pommard appellation, renowned for producing top-quality Pinot Noir wines. The cuvée "En Boeuf" illustrates the power and structure characteristic of this renowned appellation.
As for the Appellation Aligoté doré, the Domaine offers two exclusive cuvées made from 100% Aligoté doré, a white grape variety emblematic of Burgundy. "Presse Verticale 429" and "Sélection Massale" reveal the freshness and vivacity typical of this unique grape variety.
Finally, in the Coteaux Bourguignon Appellation, the Domaine offers a 100% Gamay cuvée called "Gamay Fins". This light, fruity red wine embodies the charm and accessibility of this regional appellation.
