Boris Champy : Pommard En Boeuf 2022
Burgundy - Pommard - Red Wine -In 2022, Burgundy demonstrated its exceptional know-how, raising the region to a level of excellence, despite a very warm summer that ranked as the second hottest after 2003. The winemaking processes are characterised by great precision, with delicate extraction of tannins for the red wines and meticulous preservation of the aromatic balance of the white wines. The first juices, fresh and fruity, heralded expressive wines with considerable ageing potential and perfect balance, for both white and red wines.
The liveliness, finesse and aromatic complexity of 2022 are reminiscent of the famous Burgundy vintages of the 1990s.
Tasting notes:
The robe: a pretty, fairly transparent garnet-red colour.
The nose: clean raspberry and blackcurrant aromas
The palate: Very fine tannins, far removed from the powerful tannins found in some wines from this region. On the finish, the acidity builds nimbly and the wine reveals elegant transparency and great finesse. It is essential to decant this wine while it is young to allow it to reveal all its complexity.
This red wine is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes.
From 2020 onwards, Pommard will proudly display the terroir name "En Boeuf" on its label. Located high up on the slopes of Pommard, in a well-ventilated combe, this terroir perfectly embodies the essence of our estate: a relentless quest for freshness and elegance.
The grapes are harvested by hand at their peak of ripeness, then the wine is matured in oak barrels for an average of 12 months, 30% of which are new.
12Bouteilles' advice: This Pommard will go perfectly with a delicious grilled meat or full-bodied cheeses, and can be cellared for 5 to 8 years.
