The Beaune 1er Cru "Clos des Fèves" 2020 is a monopole cuvée from Domaine Chanson Père et Fils. The 2020 vintage remains an excellent one for Burgundy vineyards.
The vineyard is located mid-slope and covers 3.80 hectares. Clos des Fèves was first recorded in 1307 under the Latin name "Fae", which means "the beech" in Latin.
Tasting notes:
Black color. Very fresh, intense nose of ripe burlat cherry. Very structured, full and complex on the palate, with powerful tannins. Very great density. Very long, powerful and elegant finish.
Food pairing
Game (pheasant), poultry (capon) and all mature cheeses (Epoisses, Langres).
Press notes :
95 James Suckling
91-93 Burghound
12bouteilles' suggestion: A sublime wine served with poultry (capon-type), game or mature cheese. It should be forgotten in the cellar for a few years.
