Domaine de Beaurenard: Châteauneuf-du-Pape lieu-dit 2018
Rhone Valley - Châteauneuf-du-Pape - Red Wine -The 2018 vintage was a very special vintage for the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation and more generally for the Rhône Valley. A year with record rainfall in the first ten months. Fortunately, the rain stopped in September, which allowed the winegrowers to harvest on time and in complete serenity; despite the strong pressure of Mildew. 2018 was also marked by strong heat during the summer which allowed a beautiful concentration of sugars in the berries and finally obtain grapes of excellent quality. The red Châteauneuf-du-Pape are "fruit bombs" in this vintage, with silky and velvety tannins. Greedy wines with a good length, which can be appreciated in their youth while keeping a good potential for ageing.
The Châteauneuf-du-Pape lieu-dit red 2018 from Domaine de Beaurenard, is produced on one of the most beautiful parcels of the vineyard. This certified organic, biodynamic wine is the result of a blend of Cinsault (77%) and Grenache (23%)
Tasting comments:
The robe: deep and brilliant ruby
The nose: nice complexity around an aromatic of red fruits like cherry, blueberry, but also animal notes and undergrowth
The palate: crunchy fruit, supple and racy texture, nice freshness
The advice of 12 bottles : This great Châteauneuf-du-Pape will be a wonderful accompaniment to a fine piece of meat, game or even a fatty fish. 2018 is a great vintage in the region that deserves to wait a little longer.
