Bordeaux - Pessac-Leognan - Cru Classé - Red Wine -The 2021 vintage of Domaine de Chevalier is one of the vintage's successes in the Pessac Léognan appellation.
The wines have great finesse and elegance.
The nose gives off aromas of black fruit, blueberry, blackberry and blackcurrant, followed by scents of undergrowth and vanilla.
On the palate, the vintage is characterised by finesse, with a straightforward attack of red fruit, followed by a fine, vanilla woodiness that develops on the palate. The tannins are silky.
This domaine de Chevalier rouge 2021 is certainly a fine bottle to keep in the cellar for at least 10 years to reach full maturity.
The blend of the 2021 vintage is made up of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc.
The 2021 vintage was matured for 18 months in French oak barrels, 1/3 of which were new.
12bouteilles suggestion: To be decanted at least 6 hours before drinking, this still young wine is the perfect accompaniment to white meats, poultry and cheese platters.
