Domaine de Villaine : Bourgogne Côte Chalonnaise La Fortune 2022
Burgundy - Côte Chalonnaise - Red Wine -Produced by the Domaine de Villaine and neighboring La Digoine, the place called "La Fortune" benefits from identical soil, climate and exposure, therefore favorable to Pinot Noir. The vine being younger, the Bourgogne Côte Chalonnaise La Fortune 2022 is a very fruity wine. This vintage comes specifically from the place called La Fortune, reputed to be one of the most remarkable terroirs in the village of Bouzeron. This charming name is said to be derived from the Latin "Fortuna", meaning "fortune, happiness, luck".
Tasting note :
Color: a magnificent deep ruby color
Nose: reveals aromas of red fruits
Mouth: structured with tighter tannins but retains a certain freshness in the expression of its fruit, pure, digestible and balanced.
The 12bouteilles advice : Serve around 16 degrees with red or white meats (avoiding overly spicy sauces and seasonings) and mild cheeses. It is recommended to drink it within two or three years after bottling to appreciate its red fruit flavors and freshness.
Located near the plot of La Digoine, another vintage of the estate, the place called La Fortune shares similar characteristics. Nestled in the village of Bouzeron, it is an ideal terroir where young Pinot Noir vines can fully blossom, expressing their full potential with grace.
In an environment much less known than that of the Côte de Nuits, the Villaine couple acquired this estate in 1971. Pierre de Benoist, who was an ardent defender of the inclusion of Burgundy climates as a world heritage site. humanity, has applied the same methods as those used at the Romanée-Conti estate: biodynamic cultivation, organic certification, natural vinification, as well as manual harvesting and sorting of the grapes.
Since 2001, his nephew Pierre de Benoist has gradually taken the reins of the Villaine estate, formerly known as A & P de Villaine. Whether for the wines of Mercurey, Rully or Bouzeron, they have been recognized among the most prestigious on the Côte Chalonnaise.
