Burgundy - Mercurey - Red Wine -This Mercurey "Les Montots" 2020 is a sublime red wine of Burgundy produced by the Domaine de Villaine and stemming from the place called "Les Montots" located on rather pronounced slopes, exposed and planted in Pinot Noir coming from Nuits-Saint-Georges for their aromatic quality and its moderate output. Full-bodied and vigorous, this wine opens up little by little with age and only reveals all its aromas after a minimum of 5 to 7 years.

The palate: full of energy and fresh with thick tannins. They surround a peppery and fruity grain of wine
Located between the villages of Santenay in the Côte d'Or and Rully and Mercurey in the Côte Chalonnaise, the Domaine de Villaine is located in Bouzeron. The first village of the Côte Chalonnaise south of Beaune, it is certified organic since 1986. The vines are cultivated on hillsides between 270 and 350 meters altitude. The thin soils with a high limestone content, of these hillsides, ensure good control of the yields and the warm microclimate favours the ripening of the grapes.
The advice of 12bouteilles: Serve it around 18°C, it will perfectly accompany red meats, game and many kinds of cheese (avoid soft cheeses). This wine can easily be kept for 15 to 20 years.
