Piedlong 2021, Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe

Rhone Valley - Châteauneuf-du-Pape - Red Wine -

Piedlong 2021 is a wine produced by the Brunier family at the head of Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe. A sublime Châteauneuf-du-Pâpe, this cuvée is made from plots in the Piedlond and Pignan terroirs. This Châteauneuf-du-Pape is one of our favourite cuvées, acclaimed vintage after vintage by the critics.

This 2021 vintage is a pure marvel made from a blend of vines aged 70 years (90% Grenache) and 50 years (10% Mourvèdre).

Tasting notes :

Colour: translucent ruby

Nose: notes of wild strawberry, Provençal herbs and a hint of pepper.

On the palate: Full-bodied, with excellent overall balance, present but very velvety tannins and an excellent, long finish.

12bouteilles advice:  The best value for money in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, our favourite vintage after vintage. A sublime Cru from the southern Rhône appellation signed by the Brunier family. Open 2 hours before serving with a piece of meat or game. Drink young with red meats, it has great ageing potential.
