Alsace - Alsace - Grand Cru - White Wine -This Riesling Altenberg de Bergbieten Cuvée Henriette 2017, is a white wine in AOC Alsace Grand Cru produced by Domaine Frédéric Mochel. The vineyard of the Grand Cru Altenberg de Bergbieten is located in northern Alsace, at the gateway to the wine route. The vines face southeast and are planted on deep, draining marl-Calco-gypseous soil. Sheltered by the Balbronn ditch and protected from rain and wind by the Vosges mountains, they benefit from exceptional sunshine.
Tasting notes:
The colour: light yellow
The nose: Concentrated, with notes of apple, white peach, peony and white rose.
The palate: Beautifull fullness, with complexity and salinity. The finish is persistent, like an impression of sorbet in the mouth
Winegrowers from father to son since 1669, the Mochel family, located in the village of Traenheim, about 20 km west of Strasbourg, cultivates 10 hectares of vines, including 5 hectares in the Grand Cru Altenberg de Bergbieten and 5 hectares in the Traenheim area. Certified High Environmental Value and in the process of conversion to organic agriculture, the respect for the vines and the environment is at the heart of their daily work.
The advice 12bouteilles: This wine will perfectly accompany your fish dishes, an Alsatian sauerkraut or a fresh goat cheese. It is to be served between 10-12°C.
